Fifth District units responded to the 1000 block of 16th Street, Northeast, in response to a shooting report. Upon arrival, an adult male was discovered unconscious and unresponsive, having sustained a gunshot wound. The District of Columbia Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene. Despite valiant efforts to provide life support, the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. Homicide was subsequently notified.
